The goals of this recorded session were:

1.To introduce a brief literature review regarding the characteristics of pre-matriculation programs for which published data exist.

2. To discuss the educational focus and structural logistics of attendees’ current/former pre-matriculation programs (e.g., with respect to duration, eligibility criteria, evaluation and supervision).

3. To evaluate strengths and limitations of different program features, particularly with respect to benefits for students.
