Professor McCarron teaches PHYS 4095 (Quantum Computation and Quantum Information), leads research with the McCarron Group (see work @themccarrongroup.com) and is an Early Career Recipient from the National Science Foundation (NSF). He will give a talk on Quantum Computing, Chemistry and Careers with Ultracold Systems.
Curious about leading quantum research? Prof. McCarron will present an overview of his research on novel ultraviolet lasers for the creation of ultracold polar molecules, used in applications of quantum computing and simulation. Further, Prof. McCarron will present pioneering work towards full quantum control of simple hydrocarbons, used in quantum-state-controlled organic chemistry.
Curious about careers & work in quantum? This talk will also feature an overview of career opportunities in ultracold systems, skills & interests that are relevant for success.
