Molly Burke lives in a world that is not made for her, or people like her. For most of her life, people around her have tried to cure her blindness. But she does not see her disability as something to be fixed. She challenges the world to become more accessible for people who are not “normal.”
Molly Burke is a YouTuber and motivational speaker. At age four, she was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a retinal disease causing loss of vision. Soon she began speaking publicly for the Foundation Fighting Blindness Canada. Molly has travelled the world sharing her story with youth, families, and corporate organizations.
This talk was part of “Western University Presents The Walrus Talks Belonging.” It was filmed in London, ON, on October 17 at the London Music Hall.
